Admirals Lose! (Again)

Ads go down fighting 6-3 to the Kodiaks

December 9, 2002

Despite outshooting their opponent for the first time in years, the Admirals came up short against the Kodiaks for their second loss in a row in the home and home series. Buoyed by strong goaltending by substitute goalie and former Admiral PIM leader Steve Dykstra, the Admirals peppered the Kodiaks with 36 shots. Mike Berquist, John Dunn and Kevin Joseph scored for the Ads. Much to KJ's chagrin, Nick Kettner took the season lead in PIMs with 12 penalty minutes which should deservedly put him among the league leaders. Dan Gerhan led the way on defense with a stalwart performance, while referee Brian Hollenbeck was overheard as saying: "That #6 can flat out play, I can't believe he's not playing somewhere in Tier B". Dick Barr remains injured with a mysterious ailment related to a dead buffalo (don't ask).

The Admirals try to get back into the win column on Sunday against the Landsharks.
