Admirals lose in shootout
Admirals winless in 12 out of last 13 (playoffs apparently now out of reach)

The Admirals broke out of a horrible goal-scoring drought by scoring 6 against fellow bottom dwellers Raiders. Actually we scored 7 but the refs incorrectly called it back. Without big misfiring gun, Adrian Abramshuk, Don Zdrazil rehabbing his injury at the Wild game, and stalwart defender Dan Gerhan, the Admirals played a gutty game with a short bench in the unheated Highland South Arena. Steve Fitz racked up a hattrick, and Kevin Joseph added three points, including a terrific (though not graceful) end to end goal. Brad Simon also scored. Leah "Red Bull" Hiniker scored her first goal as an Admiral. With a slow defense pinching up to support the offense, Kyle Johnson kept the Admirals in the game with great goaltending against wave after wave of 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 breakaways. The Admirals are back in action on Admirals Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday January 25 with an exhibition match against the Century College Co-Rec intramural hockey team.
