On their first ever Fan Appreciation Night, the Admirals were outgunned by an intramural team from Century College. Apparently outraged by being scheduled as homecoming patsies, the collegians scored goal after goal in nearly two hours of exhibition hockey in front of a packed house of 6 at St.Louis Park. Though no official score was kept, the unofficial scoreline was --chartiably for the Admirals -- 26 -6. "Its what I would call an ass-whupping in any sport" said star forward Sach Darji. Admirals Captain Apur Patel blamed assistant Kevin Joseph for scheduling the game and then not showing up. "We were, in a word, a little overmatched" said Patel. In typical Admirals fashion, the team focused on the positives on the night. Adrian Abramshuk broke his 0 for 56 scoring drought with a couple of goals on the evening, and Leah Hiniker showed a lot of mettle manning the blue line.
The Admirals resume league play on Sunday Feb. 2 with a 7.45pm tilt against the Sting. Due to contractual difficulties, the game will be blacked out on local TV and radio. Good seats are still available.
