After starting off 3-0 on the season, the Admirals lost 3 games in a row. 8-2 to the Phantoms, 6-1 to the Wild, and 8-2 to the Mudflaps. During those stretch of games, Mike "I'll be there, I promise" Lobinsky was nowhere to be found for those games. In typical Admirals fashion, the team blamed the losses on someone and that person was Lobinsky.
Lobinsky made his return against the Stars and ended up scoring the game winning goal in the 2nd period off of a blistering slap shot. Don Zdrazil scored off of an odd bounce when he threw the puck in front of the net and went off the goalie's skate and into the net to seal the victory late in the 3rd period. Kyle Johnson was solid in the net netting only his 2nd shutout in his long career with the Admirals. Nick Kettner also added to his team leading total in penalty minutes. The Admirals also killed off two 5 on 3 penalties in the game. With this win, the Admirals can say they had a better record this year than last year.
Next up for the Admirals are the Knights, who they beat 7-3 in the season opener and hope to continue their winning ways.
