ST. LOUIS PARK–In a game filled with penalties and good goaltending, the Admirals came away with a point against the Sting, currently one of the top teams in the tier.
MIke Berquist led the way for the Admirals with two goals, including the tying goal with 48 seconds remaining. WIth goaltender Kyle Johnson on the bench, Berquist shot the puck on Sting goaltender Tom Cherney, who was unable to cover the rebound. After a couple of swipes at the puck, Berquist was finally able to slip the puck behind the goal line.
The third period was very physical, with a nine minor penalties called in the period. There were thirteen total penalties called in the game. The Admirals had two five-on-three power plays, but were unable to convert on either.
John Dunn had a goal, the only goal in the first period, and an assist. Berquist's first goal of the game came in the second period, and Steve Fitz also scored early in the third period. Eric Kellenberger had two goals for the Sting (3-1-1-0), who also had goals from Dean Evenson and Mike Wiens.
Next up for the Admirals are the Kodiaks (2-3-0-0) on November 30.
